This privacy notice is issued by Arslan & Koylan Law and Mediation Office (the “Firm”) as data controller, pursuant to Article 10 of Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data (KVKK). It explains for what purposes, on what legal grounds and how we process the personal data of people who visit our website or contact us by e-mail, telephone or the contact form.

Personal data processed
- Identity and contact: name, e-mail address, telephone number
- Request details: the topic you select and the content of your message
- Transaction security: IP addresses and access logs kept by the infrastructure hosting the site
Messages sent through the contact form are not stored on the site or in any database; they are forwarded only to our office e-mail address through our e-mail delivery provider. Please do not share special categories of personal data, such as health information or criminal convictions, in your first contact.
Purposes and legal grounds
- Responding to your contact and appointment requests — directly related to the formation of a contract (KVKK art. 5(2)(c))
- Providing legal services if an engagement is formed — performance of a contract and the establishment, exercise or protection of a right (art. 5(2)(c), (e))
- Complying with obligations under the legislation on the legal profession and other laws — legal obligation (art. 5(2)(ç))
- Ensuring the security and operation of the site — legitimate interest (art. 5(2)(f))
Method of collection
Your personal data is collected electronically through the requests you make by e-mail and telephone and through the automatic logs of the site infrastructure.
Transfers
- To competent public authorities and courts, where required by a legal obligation or for the protection of a right
- To the e-mail, hosting and IT infrastructure providers we use, only to the extent the service requires
Our site is hosted on the infrastructure of Cloudflare, Inc. (USA). When you visit the site, your IP address and access logs are processed by Cloudflare to deliver and secure the site, and this data may be processed on servers outside Türkiye. Transfers abroad to this and other providers are carried out in accordance with the conditions in Article 9 of the KVKK. Information obtained in the course of an attorney–client relationship is also protected by the duty of professional secrecy under the Attorneys’ Act.
Retention
Your personal data is kept for as long as the purpose of processing requires and for the retention periods set by the applicable legislation; at the end of these periods it is erased, destroyed or anonymised.
Your rights
Under Article 11 of the KVKK, you have the right to learn whether your personal data is processed and, if so, to request information about it; to learn the purpose of processing and whether the data is used accordingly; to know the third parties in Türkiye or abroad to whom it is transferred; to request rectification of incomplete or inaccurate data and, where the conditions are met, its erasure or destruction, and notification of these actions to the third parties to whom the data was transferred; to object to a result against you arising exclusively from automated analysis; and to claim compensation if you suffer damage due to unlawful processing.
How to apply
You may send your requests in writing, in Turkish, to our address above, or to info@arslankoylan.av.tr via registered electronic mail (KEP), with a secure electronic signature or from an e-mail address you have previously provided to us. Your request will be answered free of charge within thirty days at the latest; if the action requires an additional cost, the fee set by the Personal Data Protection Board may be charged. If your request is rejected, the answer is insufficient or no answer is given in time, you may lodge a complaint with the Board.
